SUE Technician Job Rochester area,City of Rochester New York USA,Engineering

Location: City of Rochester

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a SUE Technician opening in our Rochester, NY office. LaBella fosters a team-oriented atmosphere and emphasizes unparalleled client services.

Responsibilities include:

Operating and maintaining SUE utility locating equipment, including electromagnetic induction and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR).

Reading and interpreting utility prints, design plans, and maps.

Managing field crews and ensuring safety and accuracy.

Participating in project planning and coordination meetings.

Preparing detailed reports and sketches.

Assisting with quality assurance of deliverables.

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and other disciplines to promote SUE services.

Maintaining technology and managing records.

Ensuring a valid driver’s license and ability to perform physical tasks.

Qualifications:

AAS or BS degree in land surveying, engineering, geology, or related fields.

At least 2 years of relevant experience, including management and utility design.

Experience with SUE in an engineering environment.

Knowledge of utility records and field operations.

Excellent communication skills.

Familiarity with land surveying technology and software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in teams.

Willingness to work overtime and operate company vehicles.

Experience with public utility projects and OSHA safety certifications are a plus.

Salary Range: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour.
