Job Summary

Construction Project Engineer – Canandaigua, NY

Location

Base Pay Range

$ - $ per year

Requirements

Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Oversee construction management of ongoing construction projects and renovations.
  • Review contractor’s Quality Assurance Plan.
  • Oversee and perform three‑phase inspections and surveillance of construction work to ensure compliance with contract and specifications.
  • Review design, comment logging and back‑checking for Design‑Build projects.
  • Monitor submittals utilizing a submittal status log.
  • Review & comment on accuracy of contractor’s requests for payment.
  • Review and acknowledge daily reports, verifying project schedule and status.
  • Maintain orderly working files for correspondence, minutes, payments, schedules, progress reports, punch lists, field changes.
  • Review and process Requests for Information (RFI) and contract documents including amendments, notices to proceed, change orders, modifications, and other documents during construction.
  • Support construction contract modifications.
  • Perform critical path schedule review.
Education & Experience
  • 7+ years of engineering and construction management experience.
  • Experience with construction administration and large projects.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • US Army Corps of Engineering or other federal project experience preferred.
  • Experience with Resident Management System (RMS) preferred.
  • Skilled in reading construction plans and specifications.
  • Good written communication and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Physically mobile on construction sites and field assignments.
  • Enjoy working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
