Construction Project Engineer – Canandaigua, NY
LocationCanandaigua, NY
Base Pay Range$ - $ per year
RequirementsMust be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen.
Duties / Responsibilities- Oversee construction management of ongoing construction projects and renovations.
- Review contractor’s Quality Assurance Plan.
- Oversee and perform three‑phase inspections and surveillance of construction work to ensure compliance with contract and specifications.
- Review design, comment logging and back‑checking for Design‑Build projects.
- Monitor submittals utilizing a submittal status log.
- Review & comment on accuracy of contractor’s requests for payment.
- Review and acknowledge daily reports, verifying project schedule and status.
- Maintain orderly working files for correspondence, minutes, payments, schedules, progress reports, punch lists, field changes.
- Review and process Requests for Information (RFI) and contract documents including amendments, notices to proceed, change orders, modifications, and other documents during construction.
- Support construction contract modifications.
- Perform critical path schedule review.
- 7+ years of engineering and construction management experience.
- Experience with construction administration and large projects.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering.
- US Army Corps of Engineering or other federal project experience preferred.
- Experience with Resident Management System (RMS) preferred.
- Skilled in reading construction plans and specifications.
- Good written communication and organizational skills.
- Physically mobile on construction sites and field assignments.
- Enjoy working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
