The Clinical Coordinator plays a vital role in managing the clinical education component of the radiologic technology program. This position serves as the primary liaison between the academic program and clinical sites, ensuring students receive comprehensive hands‑on training while maintaining compliance with accreditation standards. The role combines administrative coordination, student supervision, educational support, and radiation safety responsibilities to facilitate successful program operations and student outcomes.
Some of the key responsibilities of the Clinical Coordinator include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Obtaining and maintaining appropriate clinical sites for students to complete clinical requirements.
- Tracking the progression of students' clinical performance weekly, including ensuring that required competencies are obtained, and following up with students when documentation is missing.
- Promoting and maintaining compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements pertaining to the clinical experience for the students.
- Assisting with the facilitation of laboratory components of appropriate program classes to enhance the students' learning experience.
- Serving as the program's on‑site Radiation Safety Officer.
- Supporting the program director to ensure effective program operations.
- Keeping up to date in the knowledge of program/occupation‑specific material and educational instruction.
- Teaching a lab procedures class once a semester, as needed.
- Depending on the candidate's qualifications, teaching classes in the program is possible, as needed.
Additional duties within the Allied Health department will include student recruitment, student orientation and advisement, curriculum/course development, member of the external curriculum advisory committee, and university service to include membership on various college committees. This position requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of radiologic technology practices, and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical partners, students, and program leadership to maintain program excellence and student success.
This position could be either a 10‑month, 11‑month, or 12‑month appointment, to be determined based on the qualifications of the applicant and the program needs at the time of hire.
Job Requirements- Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Science, Radiologic Technology, or other health‑related field, or ability to complete within 12 months.
- Two years' clinical experience in the professional discipline.
- Teaching experience or preceptor experience.
- Holds current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration, or equivalent, in radiography.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising.
- One year's teaching experience as an instructor in a JRCERT‑accredited program.
