Certifications:

CBSPD, CSPDT (either CRCST or CSPDT) Must-Have:
Previous charge experience preferred Experience in an acute hospital setting preferred

Experience with various endoscopes required

Description:

Responsibilities include the proper cleaning, processing, and sterilization of surgical instruments. The Sterile Processing Tech will handle automated endoscope reprocessors and related equipment. Knowledge of chemical agents for decontamination and disinfectants is essential. Skills in high-level disinfection and manual cleaning techniques are required. Proper labeling and organizing of trays and placing instruments on trays are critical tasks. Candidates should be familiar with sterilization wrapping procedures and the use of washers and sterilizers.

Experience with bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, cystoscopes, EGD scopes, and other endoscopic instruments is expected. Candidates will document equipment usage accurately. Strong aseptic technique is required to maintain patient safety and instrument integrity. The position may require occasional weekend coverage and on-call duties. Flexibility with scheduling is preferred, though not guaranteed. Candidates should be open to floating between units as necessary. Experience with sterile processing microsystems is an asset.

Understanding of biological and chemical indicators, as well as steam sterilization testing and monitoring, is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in scope/probe reprocessing and sets/trays assembly.
