After undergoing a transformative restoration, Waldorf Astoria New York is seeking a Maître d'hotel Hospitality Coordinator to unveil a new era of luxury which embodies the spirit of New York City.
Our Yoshoku seeks a Maître d'hôtel Hospitality Coordinator who will be the first and last impression of an extraordinary dining experience. This role requires an individual with a warm and engaging presence, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for Forbes 5‑Star hospitality. You will set the tone for our guests’ journey, ensuring a seamless and personalized arrival, dining, and departure experience.
Responsibilities- Ensure a gracious, warm welcome for each guest, utilizing guest names whenever possible to create a personalized experience.
- Escort guests to their seats with poise and hospitality, providing an elegant introduction to their dining journey.
- Maintain an acute awareness of the dining flow, managing reservations and seating assignments to ensure a seamless experience.
- Communicate with servers and chefs to accommodate special requests, dietary restrictions, and personal preferences.
- Demonstrate a deep knowledge of the menu and beverage offerings, engaging guests with insights when appropriate.
- Provide anticipatory service, recognizing opportunities to elevate the guest experience before a request is made.
- Assist with maintaining the pristine presentation of the entrance and dining areas, ensuring a luxurious first impression.
- Support the team with opening and closing duties and collaborate with colleagues to uphold a culture of excellence.
The rate of pay for this role is $36.50 – $38.00 and is based on applicable and specialized experience.
Qualifications- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to anticipate and fulfill guest needs before they are expressed.
- A polished and professional demeanor, with a passion for hospitality and guest name recognition.
- Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast‑paced, high‑touch environment while maintaining a gracious presence.
- Prior experience in a fine dining, luxury, Forbes 5‑Star, or Michelin‑starred restaurant is preferred.
- Must possess a valid Food Handler Card and Alcohol Awareness certification prior to being offered the position.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
