Summary Primary responsibilities for the Senior EMR Analyst position include design, build, testing, validation and ongoing support of EMR applications. The team member must possess in-depth knowledge of software functionality and must be able to quickly gain knowledge of operational workflows. Will remain abreast of new developments in assigned application. In collaboration with EMR team members and operational leaders, the Senior Analyst will stabilize and optimize EMR and will work with cross-application work groups to accomplish project goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively communicate to end users and leadership regarding build changes and project plans.
  • Assist end-users on proper use of the application.
  • Implement approved changes based on customer-designated priorities.
  • Effectively manage division of time between incidents, work orders, projects, RFCs and Epic application requirements (nova notes, reportable issues, etc.)
  • Manage assigned RFCs with minimal assistance and be able to follow defined processes and deadlines.
  • Execute unit and system test cases and document testing results.
  • Validate build or resolution of issue with end users prior to closing request.
  • Follow established guidelines for system change control.
  • Review and test new builds and releases prior to implementing in the production environment.
  • Transfer incidents to other teams after speaking with a member of the other team.
  • Attend meetings and show up prepared and on time or decline meetings when cannot attend so meeting leader is notified.
  • Appropriately maintain voicemail & outlook calendar.
  • Be available and approachable to peers for assistance.
  • Complete Project Dash accurately, timely and consistently including updates to change requests in Dash (or follow the relevant process for your team).
  • Document progress on incidents in Remedy consistently updating task status or other reporting processes.
  • Perform other support and application development tasks as requested by their leader.
  • Troubleshoot, update and resolve incidents.
  • Participate in application design, build, validation, and advanced design sessions within assigned areas and document decisions on build worksheets using departmental standard formats.
  • Understand operational area workflows.
  • Gather requirements from operations with signoff/email confirmation before development begins.
  • Validate build with operations when development is complete or at key milestones during development.
  • Include operational end users when performing final testing.
  • Provide training and demonstrations, as required.
  • Proactively suggest changes to the system for operational consideration.
  • Design and implement future-state operational workflows by interacting with operational department representatives to analyze needs and translate these into system design.
  • Complete change requests by due date, consistently meeting deadlines independently.
  • Maintain a low error rate; implemented projects do not require follow-up or emergent changes.
  • Successfully implement project/changes with minimal unexpected or adverse operational impact.
  • Advocate for proper testing and release management processes and procedures.
  • Work with QA to write consistent and detailed documentation of test plan, test cases, and testing results in tracking software.
  • Address/resolve defects or other issues experienced during validation; re-test, validate and document resolutions to ensure changes achieve expected outcomes.
  • Work with training to coordinate communication and documentation for end users; know when to submit educational material to Strides without being prompted.
  • Bring possible solutions when reporting problems/issues.
  • Troubleshoot and assist with issues both within assigned team and with other teams.
  • Develop appropriate solution for customer requests, present solutions to customer and/or leader, and develop options.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with operational leadership to develop and test future-state workflows.
  • Identify potential system enhancement needs.
  • Provide demonstrations of system functionality as necessary.
  • Collaborate with project managers/peers in estimating, planning and tracking assignments; anticipate and communicate dependencies and delays to project team/management.
  • Remain abreast of new developments in systems design and analysis; participate in continuing education programs/conferences as requested by leadership, review pertinent literature and periodicals.
  • Enhance technical skills through self-study, formal training, and task assignments.
  • Identify and escellate cross-application issues/impacts.
  • Provide proactive updates regarding projects and tasks to leader.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associates Degree, preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Understanding/knowledge of clinical/peripheral healthcare functions and work processes.
