Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive paralegal support to our family law attorneys, including drafting, reviewing, and filing legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and cite checking to ensure accuracy in all legal documents and correspondence.
- Manage and organize files from the initial consultation through trial, appeal, or case closure.
- Coordinate and assist in all aspects of case management, including discovery, legal research, and trial preparation.
- Participate in client meetings and assist in the preparation and organization of client materials.
- Assist with mediation and custody matters, ensuring all documents are prepared and filed accurately and timely.
- Conduct client interviews and maintain general contact with the client, so long as the client is also kept informed by the attorney.
- Utilize eFile system for the submission of legal documents.
- Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for hearings, trials, and meetings.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Family Law Paralegal.
- Proficient in using legal database software and platforms.
- Demonstrated experience in custody, mediation, eFile, cite checking, labor and employment, family law, legal writing, and legal documents.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong research and report‑generating skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Paralegal certification from an accredited program is required.
- Bachelor's degree in law, paralegal studies, or a related field is preferred.
