Operations Management Trainee – Ryder
Summary
:
The Operations Management Trainee will support shop management, assist with cost savings, customer retention, and metric-based initiatives. The role works cross‑functionally with Operations, Asset Management, Sales, Quality, and Rental Management. This fast‑paced program develops foundational knowledge in operations and fleet maintenance, with a clear progression to an Ops Supervisor.

Compensation
:
Salaried. Minimum Pay Range: $55,000 – $60,000.

Essential Functions
- Provide quality customer interface and proactive customer management, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with rental department to maximize utilization without compromising lease customers.
- Partner with Sales staff on customer calls for new business and increased satisfaction.
- Manage running costs and maintenance overheads, ensuring adherence to policy and processes to optimize costs.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Asset Management, Sales, and Marketing to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate preventive maintenance scheduling, monitor breakdowns and vehicle status updates, and oversee Technician work planning for efficiency, training, and flexibility.
Additional Responsibilities
- Relocation within the business unit upon completion of the training program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Advanced PC knowledge, including spreadsheets and word processing.
- Basic understanding of business finance, controls, and metrics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Preferred: one year or more of customer service with issue resolution experience.
