Position: Engineering Technician (US Citizen) - Rochester, NY - JP7595 with Security Clearance

* High School Diploma
* 6 years minimum relevant experience with HS Diploma or 2 year post secondary with AA
* Perform work in manufacturing and/or prototyping environment.
* Read engineering drawings/blueprints/schematics and detailed work instructions.
* Maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation.
* Work with very fragile and precise assemblies.
* Assist with identifying problems and suggest solutions.
* Adhere to established policies, procedures, and proper labor charging practices.
* Work with a variety of hand tools and specialized equipment.
* Proficient with measuring tools (verniers, calipers, scales, etc.)
* Must be able to arrive on time!
* Must be able to work in a team-based environment and interact with support team members Nice to Haves:
* Experience in an Electrical/Mechanical/Optical discipline.
* Aerospace or Defense industry experience.
* Experience with shop equipment including but not limited to Mills, Lathes, Grinders, and precision measuring equipment.
* Lean Manufacturing practices.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:

* Experience in production assembly.
* Perform work in manufacturing and/or prototyping environment.
* Read engineering drawings/blueprints/schematics and detailed work instructions.
* Maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation.
* Work with very fragile and precise assemblies.
* Assist with identifying problems and suggest solutions.
* Adhere to established policies, procedures, and proper labor charging practices.
* Work with a variety of hand tools and specialized equipment.
* Must be proficient with measuring tools (verniers, calipers, scales, etc.)
* Must be able to perform as an individual contributor as well as within a team environment.

Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate's degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be willing to submit to a background investigation, as a government security clearance might be required for this position.
* Ability to work overtime/weekends/shifts and some travel.
* Ability to stand, walk, and move around for long periods.
