Position SummaryThe Manufacturing Technician is responsible for the product assembly, product testing, and product repair of desktop, low‑volume, and high‑volume document scanners. Attention to detail is vital as we strive to have zero product defects. Our technicians work in bench stations and use hand tools and PC applications for scanner testing. Deliverables change frequently; the applicant must adapt to complete the work required on a given day.
Documents guide the Technician through the required work. Dependability and accuracy are vital to meet product delivery dates and quality standards. The current opening is for the day shift with a starting time of 7:00 am, 7:30 am, or 8:00 am.
- Complete production orders for product assembly, including new builds and conversions.
- Perform product testing, including end‑of‑line testing and image quality tests to ensure product meets Kodak Alaris standards.
- Focus on the customer by maintaining quality service and providing exceptional results.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment at workstations and aisles, complying with departmental and corporate standards, processes, and procedures.
- Perform inventory controls, such as cycle counting, to keep quality standards high for internal and external audits.
- Proven product assembly experience, including wire harnesses, circuit boards, and mechanical assemblies.
- Proficiency in PC usage with testing experience.
- Familiarity with electronics and mechanical devices.
- Strong electro‑mechanical problem solving.
- Experience with electronic and mechanical devices is preferred.
- Must be comfortable running software for product testing.
- Experience with Windows OS and internet applications, including Internet Explorer and Windows.
- Experience with Microsoft desktop applications, including WORD and EXCEL.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to learn processes and recommend improvements.
- Work with a focus on the delivery schedule.
- Quality focused with a “zero‑defect” mentality.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5–10 years of manufacturing or assembly experience.
- Associate’s degree with a technology focus (preferred).
- Ability to lift 40 lb.
- Ability to repeatedly bend, squat, and lift.
- Work hours are Monday – Friday, with a start time of 7:00 am EST.
- Work location is at the Rochester Tech Park, Building 2, 777 Elmgrove Road, Rochester, NY.
- Position is a direct‑hire position.
$20.00 – $24.00 per hour, based on experience.
