• Set up, program, and safely operate a Single Point Diamond Turning machining following established instructions.
• Prepare SPDT programs for new processes and collaborate with department and team to develop new processes.
• Work closely with other departments to improve efficiency and throughput.
• Consult with the technical team to determine methods of manufacturing, fixturing needs, and inspection criteria.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on the SPDT machine.
• Inspect optical components for compliance to written specifications and work with Quality Assurance on metrics and testing.
• Document processes and events.
• Perform other duties at the discretion of the Departmental Manager.

• Maintain safety for all employees assigned to operations.
• Initiate and maintain proper safety and fire prevention equipment per company policies.
• Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to Micro-LAM Company Policies.
• Follow established safety procedures and techniques when performing job duties.
• Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report uncorrectable conditions to management or the safety committee.
• When operating the machine, if the door is open the operator must wear safety glasses.

• Moderate walking, standing, heavy lifting (50 lbs), carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching.

• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in Single Point Diamond Turning programming & machining and/or CNC manufacturing and programming.
• Experience with metrology, including standard measuring equipment, a profilometer, interferometer, etc.
• Proficiency in relevant computer applications: MS Office, MS Outlook, CNC programming.
• Experience running CNC or optic-generating machines (experience in both preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot G-code programs and adjust on machine to correct surfaces.
• Advanced math skills.
• Strong attention to detail and continual process improvement mindset.
• Understanding of CNC programming and capability to create/modify CNC programs.
• Document processes and work instructions for diamond tuning operation.
• Ability to read and understand optical and traditional blueprints and follow directions.
• Excellent decision-making abilities.
• Leadership skills.
• Good time management skills.

High School Diploma/GED.

$24 – $34 per hour based on level of competency (plus shift differential of 10%).

The compensation range for this position is $0.00 – $0.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for a performance-based bonus plan.
