You may already know that we are a faith-led agency, providing compassionate, person-centered care to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, trauma, addiction and other life troubles through residential or emergency housing and programs, and a food and clothing community service. Our objective is to nurture and grow existing programs and services and implement the best practices to meet the needs of our clients - all while sharing the Gospel message.

What you may not know is that in order to serve our community well we must serve our employees well. Open Door Mission was the recipient of the 4-time Rochester Top Workplace Award. Our compensation package includes a 70% contribution towards health care premium, free dental, vision, and supplemental disability insurances, paid meals, mental health support through a robust employee assistance program, career development, as well as up to 5 weeks paid time off per year.

In the absence of the manager, the Supervisor is responsible for the implementation and delivery of services as it relates to Samaritan's House, an all men's emergency shelter and corresponding case management in alignment with the mission of "Restoring Hope and Changing Lives." The supervisor directs staff and breaks on assigned shift, supports the manager in training and orienting new staff.

While this role actively works shifts assigned at Samaritan's House the Supervisor may be called to assist and/or provide direction to staff at the Selah House location, an all women's emergency shelter. As a seasoned believer, shares the gospel through relational counseling. The supervisor provides bi weekly supervision to Samaritan's staff and completes weekly scheduling and time cards.

While this position is not directly responsible for performance management the supervisor plays a critical role in observing, documenting and reporting performance and behavioral concerns to manager, and aiding in the interview and selection process. Actively engaged in monthly meetings and may participate in community networking groups that are responsible for related services in the community.
