Harris is seeking a Nurse to provide nursing assessment, intervention, and evaluation for routine occupational and non‑occupational illness and injuries. You will assess employees’ physical and mental health, make referrals to physicians and other providers when necessary, administer and monitor return‑to‑work programs and worker’s compensation case management, and track medical records, occupational health and safety logs. You will work with EHS on injury investigations and case management, oversee the medical emergency response team, and typically oversee one or more special programs such as blood drives or health promotion.

Functions
  • Consult with physicians and outside clinics and labs; perform qualitative respirator fit tests, vision tests, vaccinations, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing.
  • Manage worker’s compensation cases and administer the Return to Work Program for work‑related injuries.
  • Maintain medical records, individual employee health records, and occupational health and safety logs.
  • Provide first‑aid care, emergency treatment for injuries, general injury case management, and manage the blood borne pathogen program.
  • Assess employees’ physical and mental health and refer to physicians and other providers when necessary.
  • Collaborate with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) on injury investigations, chemical exposures, industrial hygiene sampling assessments, and disposition of work‑related injuries.
  • Support development of applicable medical directives.
  • Oversee one or more special programs (e.g., blood drive, health promotion).
  • Oversee the medical emergency response team, including AED equipment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 4 years prior experience in Nursing, or a 2‑year post‑secondary/AA Degree with 8 years prior experience in Nursing, or a Graduate Degree with 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Must hold an active, unrestricted RN license in the state of New York.
Preferred Additional Skills
  • COHN, COHN‑S or CM certification.
  • Previous experience in an occupational health setting.
  • Experience with workers’ compensation and general injury case management.
  • Ability to provide emergency treatment for injuries (FA, CPR, AED).
  • Experience with electronic record‑keeping systems.
  • Ability to work well with hourly workforce and management.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with external parties (physicians, clinics, workers’ compensation insurers, vendors).
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Edge).
Salary and Benefits

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York State is $75,000–$139,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation; final offer may vary based on experience and location. L3
