The Highland Discharge Lounge RN is a new position designed to facilitate patient flow throughout the hospital.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM (No holidays).
The Highland Discharge Lounge RN provides professional nursing services to patients, families, and the nursing department. The RN collaborates with other health‑care providers and team members to achieve expected patient outcomes and improve the care environment, using nursing process and evidence‑based practice to coordinate and provide direct care and services that support care.

Level III Registered Nurse (RN)
The Level III RN is accountable for the provision of expert patient care based on established standards and utilizing the nursing process, including service to patients with complex needs. Responsibilities may include staff orientation, patient care coordination, shift charge nurse, or other unit/service activities, and may assume an expanded unit role as available and assigned by the Nurse Manager. The Level III RN supports peers, models effective team communication, documents care reflecting patient condition and priorities, provides support to team problem‑solving, identifies opportunities for self‑growth, contributes to learner development, promotes a safe unit environment, interprets policies and procedures, shares new evidence with peers, adheres to practice and policy standards, supports efficiencies in care and demonstrates enhanced critical decision‑making and conflict‑management skills.
The Level III RN participates in formal and informal educational activities that support evidence‑based care and outcomes.
Pay Range: $41.00 – $54.19 per hour.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum recent 2 years RN experience in an acute care setting.
- BS in Nursing preferred.
- Licensed by New York State to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Current CPR certification (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare providers preferred).
Employment Type: Full‑time – 36 to 40 hours per week;
Part‑time available.
Seniority Level: Mid‑Senior.
