Summary As a Nurse Practitioner, your clinical skills and superior customer service in providing medical care leads to a positive, effective patient experience. The NP in this role will float to different Work Ready locations.

STATUS: Part Time (24 hours)

LOCATION: Work Ready Locations

DEPARTMENT: Employee and Occupational Health

SCHEDULE: Days, Monday-Friday

• Patient Care:
  Synthesize and interpret history, physical examination and diagnostic testing data; develop a diagnosis, initiate treatment and health maintenance plan; select and order appropriate diagnostic and health maintenance procedures; refer patients to collaborating physician, specialist and/or appropriate community services or agencies; prescribe medication, perform minor procedures and coordinate treatment.
• Leadership:
  Provide health education, instruction, guidance and advisement to patients regarding medication and treatment; counsel family members and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
• Administrative Duties:
  Perform administrative functions to include completing insurance and, when time permits, medical discharge documentation; providing guidance and teaching to ancillary personnel; communicating with and counseling family members; preparing daily billing sheets; prepare complete chart entries on patient interactions, writing orders and recording progress notes.

MS:
Nursing (Required)

NP - Nurse Practitioner Certification - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects;
Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
