Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an adult Emergency Department assignment requiring an active NY RN license and proficiency with Epic EMR.
Responsibilities- Work in the adult Emergency Department of a hospital
- Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with all emergency type diagnoses
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5
- Shift is 3x12 hour evenings from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.
- Weekend shifts required every other weekend
- Must be available to work every other holiday as needed
- Floating to other units within skillset is required
- Uses Epic EMR;
Epic experience required - Special equipment includes Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
- Responsibilities include caring for adult and geriatric patients with a wide range of emergency conditions, including trauma, neuro, cardiac, and isolation cases
- Team-based environment with support staff and access to specialized emergency equipment
- Scrub colors must be navy blue and white
- Must submit all requests for time off or special scheduling prior to contract start
- Position is open to first-time travelers
- Active NY single state RN license required at time of submission
- Minimum of 1 year recent Emergency Department RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Proficiency in IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, and phlebotomy
- Experience with IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilator management
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency care for trauma, stroke, neuro-trauma, and pediatric emergencies
- Must have experience with Epic EMR
- RNs residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
