Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an adult Emergency Department assignment requiring an active NY RN license and proficiency with Epic EMR.

• Work in the adult Emergency Department of a hospital
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with all emergency type diagnoses
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5
• Shift is 3x12 hour evenings from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• Must be available to work every other holiday as needed
• Floating to other units within skillset is required
• Uses Epic EMR;
  Epic experience required
• Special equipment includes Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
• Responsibilities include caring for adult and geriatric patients with a wide range of emergency conditions, including trauma, neuro, cardiac, and isolation cases
• Team-based environment with support staff and access to specialized emergency equipment
• Scrub colors must be navy blue and white
• Must submit all requests for time off or special scheduling prior to contract start
• Position is open to first-time travelers

• Active NY single state RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year recent Emergency Department RN experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency in IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, and phlebotomy
• Experience with IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilator management
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency care for trauma, stroke, neuro-trauma, and pediatric emergencies
• Must have experience with Epic EMR
• RNs residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
