American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with diverse surgical specialty experience for a 13-week evening shift assignment requiring an active NY RN license.

• Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
• Diverse surgical caseload spanning ortho-total joint, trauma, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic specialties
• Wide range of procedures including general, bariatric, vascular, thoracic, ENT, GYN, neuro, ortho, plastics, podiatry, urology, and robotic (Da Vinci Xi) surgeries
• Evening shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 13:00-23:30
• 13-week assignment length
• Floating required
• Call required
• Facility will attempt to accommodate block scheduling but cannot guarantee it

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• BLS certification required; CNOR preferred
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Competency in phlebotomy and IV placement required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency across a broad range of surgical specialties including vascular, GYN, plastics, neuro, ortho, cardiovascular, general, endoscopic, urology, ENT, bariatric, and thoracic procedures

• Responsibilities include supporting a wide variety of surgical procedures and specialties within the OR
• Knowledge of code response, fire safety, latex allergy protocols, infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling, and universal protocol (time out) procedures required
• Experience administering blood and blood products and performing urinary bladder catheterization required
• Teal scrubs required
• Minimal RTO preferred for consideration
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility for consideration
• Local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Previous staff returning to the system must have a 6-month separation, system wide
