American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a NY RN license and diverse surgical specialty experience including ortho-total joint, trauma, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic cases.
Details- Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 11:00 to 21:30
- Diverse case coverage including ortho-total joint and trauma, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic procedures
- Wide range of surgical specialties covered including general surgery, bariatrics, cardiovascular, plastics, urology, ENT, podiatry, and robotics (Da Vinci Xi)
- Candidates will float as needed
- On-call responsibilities required
- Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed
- Active NY RN license required in hand
- BLS certification required; CNOR certification preferred
- Minimum 3 years of recent OR experience required
- Epic charting experience strongly preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Proficiency across a broad range of surgical specialties and procedures, including vascular, GYN, plastics, neuro, orthopedic, general surgery, urology, ENT, bariatric, and thoracic cases
- Responsibilities include circulating and/or scrubbing across a wide variety of surgical specialties
- Required knowledge of emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, and latex allergy procedures
- Must follow Universal Protocol (time out) procedures and proper specimen handling/labeling
- Teal scrubs required
- Minimal RTO requested; candidates with more than 10 days of requested time off will not be considered
- Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
- Former employees must wait 6 months system-wide before reapplying
