American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a valid NY license, 3 years of experience, and diverse surgical specialty skills.
Details- Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
- Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM
- Diverse case experience needed including ortho-total joint and trauma, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic procedures
- Wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery, bariatrics, vascular, neuro, orthopedic, plastics, urology, ENT, and robotics (Da Vinci Xi)
- Required competency with phlebotomy and IV placement
- On-call requirements apply
- Floating required
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed
- Active NY RN license required in hand
- BLS certification required; CNOR preferred
- Minimum 3 years of recent OR experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- Extensive OR specialty experience required across multiple surgical service lines including vascular, GYN, neuro, ortho, general surgery, ENT, bariatrics, and urology
- Knowledge of emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, and latex allergy precautions required
- Perform circulating and scrub duties across a wide variety of surgical specialties
- Responsible for infection control, specimen handling/labeling, and adherence to Universal Protocol (time-out) procedures
- Administer blood and blood products as needed and follow laser and radiation safety protocols
- Teal scrubs required
- Minimal RTO requested for this assignment
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered
- First-time travelers are not considered for this position
- Previous employees must have at least 6 months since their last assignment system-wide
