American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with 1 year of experience and an active NY RN license to work 3x12 day shifts at a Rochester-area hospital.

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a hospital setting
• Day shift, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:00)
• Patient ratios of 5:1 on days/evenings (stretch 6-7:1) and 6-7:1 on nights (stretch 8-10:1)
• PCTs on units assist with vitals, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and ADLs
• Patient population includes cardiac, pulmonary, pain, GI, infection, and unmanaged DM diagnoses
• Uses bladder scanners, telemetry monitors, EKG machines, and Lifepacks
• Epic EMR preferred
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirement
• Float to stepdown boarders, stable ICU, med-surg, and stable acute brain injury patients as needed

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• 1 year of RN experience required
• Mandatory competency with phlebotomy and IV placement
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
• Peripheral line care and management experience
• Experience with nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks
• Non-invasive airway management skills
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred

• Provide bedside care for patients with cardiac, pulmonary, GI, and infectious conditions on a Med/Surg Tele unit
• Scrub colors limited to navy and white combinations
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Maximum RTO of 1 week per contract
• Previous staff must have a 6-month system-wide break before returning
• Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed
