American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN with NY licensure and dysrhythmia management skills for a 13-week assignment.

• Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Treats cardiac, pulmonary, GI, pain, infection, and unmanaged diabetes patients
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
• EOW (every other weekend) requirement
• Day/Eve ratios are 5:1 (stretch to 6-7);
  Night ratios are 6-7:1 (stretch to 8-10)
• PCTs available on all units for vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and ADLs
• No on-call requirement
• Floating required within scope to ED boarders, ICU (stable), medsurg, and acute brain injury (stable patients) units
• Uses bladder scanners, telemetry monitors, EKG machines, and lifepacks
• Epic EMR preferred

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Competency with phlebotomy and IV placement required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
• Peripheral line care and management experience
• Experience with non-invasive airway management, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks
• Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

• Manage cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response protocols
• Provide IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Administer oxygen therapy and manage non-invasive airways
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrubs must be navy and/or white combinations
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered
• No more than 1 week of RTO allowed during the contract
• Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
• Previous employees must wait 6 months system-wide before returning
• Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed
