American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 1 year of ER experience and active NY licensure.

• Combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 with mixed/shared acuity levels
• Floating required when census warrants
• Every other weekend required
• Epic charting preferred

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• Minimum 1 year of ER experience required (1.5 years preferred)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Blood product administration and central line care/management experience
• Experience with continuous IV paralytics and sedation
• Experience with IV vasopressors and procedural sedation administration
• CVA and isolation precautions experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred

• Provide emergency care across a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Perform cardiac monitoring and respond to emergencies including 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• Manage respiratory needs including BiPAP/CPAP
• Support psychiatric patients including drug overdose and suicidal patient care
• Apply and manage orthopedic splints as needed
• Scrubs must be a combination of navy and white
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Minimal RTO requests preferred for consideration
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous staff may be considered for return after a 6-month system-wide waiting period
