American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a fast-paced combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department requiring NY licensure and multiple life support certifications.

• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:00) in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patients
• 13-week assignment
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 with mixed/shared acuity levels
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required when census warrants
• Epic EMR preferred for charting
• Scrubs must be a combination of navy and white

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of ER experience required in a very busy, fast-paced environment
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV insertion
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Experience with blood product administration and central line care/management
• Experience with continuous IV paralytics, continuous IV sedation, and IV vasopressors
• Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Experience with CVA management and isolation precautions/PPE
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred

• Provide emergency care for adult and pediatric patients with varying acuity levels
• Perform 12-lead EKG/ECG and manage cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Manage patients with psychiatric holds, suicidal ideation, and drug overdose
• Apply and manage splints for orthopedic cases
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered
• Minimal RTO requested for this assignment
• Returning staff must wait 6 months system-wide before reapplying
