Key Responsibilities of the Level 1 RN Psych ER

Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives
Plan and provide nursing care for patients
Make nursing diagnoses and recommend treatment options
Consult with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff
Administer and note reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications
Arrange further medical attention when necessary
Assist clients in understanding their emotional disturbances
Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients
Test for vital signs and ensure treatments for pain
Document patient information and follow physician's written orders
Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate records
Perform administrative assignments as required
Provide high-quality service to patients and the public

Requirements of the Level 1 RN Psych ER

NY License ONLY
BLS Certification (AHA) ONLY
Minimum 2 years of experience
