Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Rochester, NY | Acute Care

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days and Nights (Alternating 3x12-Hour Shifts, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM / 7:00 PM–7:00 AM) | Every other weekend required | Every other holiday required, if needed | On-call:
None

• Assist with vaginal deliveries and circulate, recover, and provide post-operative care for C-section patients
• Administer and monitor Magnesium Sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), and Terbutaline; manage Pregnancy-Induced Hypertension and Post Partum Hemorrhage
• Perform and interpret Non-Stress Tests (NST), External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM), and IUPC placement and calibration; assign APGAR scores
• Provide newborn care including /Security Banding, Radiant Warmers/Thermoregulation, and Baby Catcher responsibilities
• Manage Foley catheter insertion, Fundus/lochia/perineum care, and triage of all pregnant patients at any gestational age and postpartum patients within 6 weeks of delivery
• Float within skillset as needed; document using EPIC (hard requirement)

• Active New York Single State RN license required at time of submission (NY is not a Compact state; pending licenses not accepted)
• OB-ACLS or ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position

• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery RN experience preferred
• Experience with GE Fetal and Telemetry Monitors, Monica wireless fetal monitoring, Neopuff, and Draeger newborn warmers
• Familiarity with non-Epic charting systems such as CPN or GE Centricity
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
