Infusion Nurse - Cancer Center

Under the direction of an Attending Physician or licensed independent practitioner, the Registered Nurse (RN) delivers technically complex, high-risk nursing care. This includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for assigned patients, with a focus on infusion therapies. The RN also provides leadership and supervision to nursing assistants and other healthcare workers as assigned.

• Uphold the mission to provide superior, compassionate healthcare while respecting patient dignity and individuality.
• Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Perform clinical and research procedures efficiently and with high quality, following proper protocols for sedation and infusion therapies.
• Provide compassionate, age-appropriate patient care, addressing psychological, social, and spiritual needs through multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Complete thorough patient assessments, documentation, and clinical interpretations; exercise sound judgment for timely physician intervention.
• Recognize and respond promptly to patient emergencies with appropriate life-supporting interventions.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment with proper inventory control and equipment readiness.
• Communicate professionally using AIDET principles and accommodate special patient needs flexibly.
• Perform required Quality Assurance testing and assist in staffing rotations as needed.
• Expertly assess and manage patient conditions such as anxiety, pain, and underlying diseases, with prompt pain evaluation and reassessment per protocol.
• Maintain required nursing competencies, including specific skills to provide proficient care for oncology and non-oncology adult infusion patients.
• Administer high-risk infusions and transfusions, including chemotherapy medications, ensuring safety and adherence to standards.

• Current RN license in the State of Illinois.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification/card within 6 months of hire or transfer.

• Chemotherapy and infusion experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in a research environment preferred.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.

Days, Monday-Friday 8 hour shifts No holidays or weekends

The expected pay for this position is listed below: $35.00 - $42.50

The final pay rate offered may be more than the posted range based on several factors including but not limited to: licensure, certifications, work experience, education, knowledge, demonstrated abilities, internal equity, market data, and more.
