American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring NY licensure and at least 1 year of MS/Tele experience.

• MS/Tele unit setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12, 19:00-07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Day/evening patient ratios of 5:1 (stretch 6-7:1); night ratios of 6-7:1 (stretch 8-10:1 if staff call in)
• PCTs on unit handle vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and ADLs
• No on-call requirement
• Floating required within scope to units such as ED boarders, stable ICU, medsurg, and stable acute brain injury patients
• Patient population includes cardiac, pulmonary, pain, GI, infection, and unmanaged DM diagnoses
• Uses bladder scanners, telemetry, EKG machines, and lifepacks
• Epic charting system preferred

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele RN experience required
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with rapid response/code teams
• Peripheral line care and management experience
• Experience with nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks
• Non-invasive airway management and isolation precautions/PPE experience
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac, pulmonary, and GI conditions along with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Scrub attire must be a combination of navy and white
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Locals not accepted; candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility
• No more than 1 week of RTO allowed during the contract
• Pending licenses not accepted
• Previous employees must wait 6 months system-wide before returning
• Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed
