Licensed Veterinary Technician – Thrive Pet Healthcare
Location:
Penfield, NY
Part‑time position (20–30 hours per week, including a weekend shift). The ideal candidate is passionate about animal care, highly motivated, and attentive to detail.

Role Responsibilities- Support veterinarians and the medical team to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
- Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state’s Veterinary Practice Act and the credential requirements for veterinary technicians.
- Monitor and assess patient status.
- Collect blood and other samples for testing.
- Place catheters.
- Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
- Assist in maintaining comprehensive medical records and obtaining client health history.
- Use safe restraining techniques, follow protocols, and maintain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
- Mentor and support fellow team members.
- Veterinary technician licensure required.
- 1–2 years of clinical experience.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA‑accredited veterinary technology program preferred, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform squatting, reaching, standing, and walking throughout the day.

Hourly pay range starting at $21–23 per hour, negotiable based on credentials and experience.
