Job Title: Compliance Technician
Reports To: Compliance Manager
Compensation: $21.00 per hour
OverviewThe Compliance Technician supports the Compliance Manager and collaborates with multiple departments to ensure the company remains compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role involves auditing, monitoring, documenting, and implementing compliance systems while supporting quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) functions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Assist with internal compliance audits, including inventory and audit controls.
- Support QA/QC processes to maintain high standards of compliance and quality.
- Assist in updating, implementing, and monitoring compliance systems for effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain process maps, compliance checklists, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor state and local laws affecting operations, update compliance documentation, and adapt processes as regulations change.
- Maintain knowledge of hazardous chemicals, Hazard Communication requirements, and the company's Emergency Action and Response Plan.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of electrical safety and machine guarding.
- Collaborate with functional leaders to communicate regulatory changes and ensure stakeholders are informed of updated policies and procedures.
- Assist with employee compliance training requirements.
- Identify compliance issues, analyze current processes, and recommend improvements to ensure regulatory adherence.
- Support implementation of compliance-related policies and procedures across departments.
- Provide weekly reports to management detailing compliance issues, recommendations, and regulatory updates.
- Document modifications to processes and procedures, updating training manuals and SOPs as needed.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience in a regulated environment or with Good Manufacturing Practices preferred.
- Strong knowledge of state and local cannabis laws and regulations.
- Familiarity with cannabis manufacturing, distribution, and food safety processes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to write reports, business correspondence, and SOPs.
- Proficiency with MS Office products.
- High level of adaptability, stress tolerance, and flexibility in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and improve operations.
- Ability to interpret basic math, percentages, and formulas.
- Dependable with consistent attendance.
- Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks.
Physical Requirements
- Daily exposure to dust, fumes, temperature extremes, humidity, and noise.
- Potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards.
- Regular use of PPE (hairnet, earplugs, gloves, safety glasses, slip‑resistant footwear, etc.), provided by the company.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, lift, reach, kneel, crawl, and twist as required.
- Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively across all levels of staff and external partners.

- Complete all required training and comply with company policies and procedures.
- Flexibility to assist in other areas of the facility as needed.
