The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

GENERAL PURPOSE

Performs complex laboratory assignments, including planning and conducting a complete project that is part of our larger research program. Responsible for organizing and maintaining our animal colony. Manages and trains other personnel in the lab, including technicians and undergraduate assistants, to ensure tasks are performed in a timely and precise manner.

• 40% - Performs an independent research project studying animal genetics, neurobiology, and behavior.
• 25% - Responsible for organizing and maintaining our mouse colony consisting of over 100 cages, leads and assists in mouse tissue collection and processing.
• 20% - Oversees, manages, and trains personnel in the lab to ensure tasks are performed in a timely and precise manner.
• 15% - Manages ordering, inventory, and equipment upkeep for the lab.

• BA, BS, or Master’s degree in biology or related field.
• Candidates should have at least one year of experience working in a lab full-time.
• Knowledge and expertise in biochemistry and molecular biology, including methods and protocols. Experience with handling mice and managing a mouse colony.
• Ability to plan, execute, and analyze the results of an experiment, including statistical reports and quantification.
