Our headquarters are in Warrenville, Illinois, supporting 250+ local centers. This position supports safe and reliable student transportation by assisting the bus driver.

• Assist students with entering or exiting the bus safely.
• Maintain highest ethical standards and report suspicious behavior.
• Seat students using seat belts, car seats, wheel chair restraints, etc.
• Serve as a role model for positive attitude and integrity.
• Monitor passengers to ensure safety regulations and conduct rules are followed.
• Manage student communication and discipline per company policy.
• Document and report violations or conduct concerns.
• Assist passengers in evacuation during emergency.
• Ensure children take belongings when leaving the bus.
• Assist driver in keeping the vehicle clean and presentable.
• Complete required paperwork and submit timely.
• Display professional behavior with employees, supervisors, parents, and school personnel.
• Present a neat, professional appearance.
• Report to duty on time and perform all responsibilities safely.
• Attend all assigned training, safety meetings, and in-service meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Pay rate: $18.59/hr

• Must be at least 18 years of age; 19 for New York School Bus Assistants.
• Meet physical and medical requirements.
• Pass all training and attend safety and in-service meetings to remain qualified.
• High attention to detail and dexterity to safely use restraints and secure wheelchairs.
• Relate to and work well with children.
• Maintain effective pupil behavior management.
• Professionalism and diplomacy skills with students, employees, parents, and school district personnel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and assist students when necessary.
