At the King Edmund School, we are in a bold new chapter. With our new school building that opened in September 2025, an aspirational student body, and a new Headteacher at the helm, we are seeking to appoint a full-time Teacher of Science from either Easter or September 2026.

The RoleWe are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and energetic Teacher of Science. Applicants should be capable of demonstrating outstanding practice and have a passion for Science. The successful candidate will be able to deliver high quality and engaging lessons to students of all abilities in key stages 3, 4 and 5 that will challenge students and inspire progression, as well as being a positive role model to students.
We are flexible on subject specialism.
- A degree, or equivalent experience, with a teaching qualification
- Proven ability to teach outstanding lessons across the 11-18 age range, with first class classroom management skills
- The ability to work in collaboration with other members of staff to further the department
- Exceptional personal organisation and time management skills
- A firm understanding of key national and educational policies and issues
- The ability to inspire high achievement in young people from all backgrounds
- A clear commitment to improving your own and others performance through effective continuous professional development

The school day lends itself to a good work/life balance with the teaching day ending at 14:10. The school offers an extensive support programme, including mentor/buddy system, Initial Teacher Training support for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) or for those seeking Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS), a system of twilight training sessions, as well as excellent development opportunities.
