We are seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of English to join a growing and ambitious department at an exciting point in its journey. To deliver high-quality teaching and learning in English, supporting all students to achieve outstanding outcomes. You'll be teaching English to students across Key Stages, delivering creative and challenging lessons that foster a love of language and literature. You'll join a supportive department, committed to helping every pupil achieve their best.

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons to students across all key stages, following the national curriculum and the school's schemes of work
• Assess, record and report on students' progress, providing effective feedback to support learning
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the English department, sharing best practice and supporting departmental initiatives
• Participate in department meetings, staff training and school-wide CPD opportunities
• Create a positive, supportive classroom environment with high expectations for all students
• Support the ethos, values and policies of The King Edmund School

For experienced candidates: take on additional responsibilities within the English department or across the wider school, as appropriate, contributing to our aim of developing one of the strongest English teams in Essex.

• A degree, or equivalent experience, with a teaching qualification
• Proven ability to teach outstanding lessons across the 11-18 range, with first class classroom management skills
• The ability to work in collaboration with other members of staff to further the department
• Exceptional personal organisation and time management skills
• A firm understanding of key national and educational policies and issues
• The ability to inspire high achievement in young people from all backgrounds
• A clear commitment to improving your own and others' performance through effective continuous professional development
