Youth Care Specialist
Youth Care Specialists I provide day-to-day care for youth ages 13–20 in a residential setting, creating a safe, nurturing, and fun environment. They work with male and female residents who may be highly acute or aggressive, supporting each youth's treatment process and emotional development. This role also includes completing tasks as assigned by the Supervisor to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage youth in daily routines, recreational activities, and therapeutic interactions.
- Support residents in developing independent living skills and coping strategies.
- Assist with treatment plans and communicate progress to the Care Coordinator or Social Worker.
- Maintain a safe and structured environment using behavior management and de-escalation techniques.
- Perform domestic tasks, provide transportation, and complete documentation as required.
Requirements:
- High school diploma and valid driver's license
- Mandatory attendance at a 4-day, 9am-5pm training program on the Home's trauma-informed care model within 6 months of hire
- Successfully completing a Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training and demonstrate proper physical techniques within 6 months of hire
