We have partnered with a globally-renowned defense company, specializing in the supply of small/medium calibre gun systems. This esteemed organization, boasting over a century at the helm of naval gunfire control technology, is currently expanding its operations in Rock Hill, South Carolina. We are seeking a dynamic and competent Technical Services Engineer.
About the Role:
Join an expanding US defense business where you will lead installation, repair, service, and training on advanced Naval Weapons Systems. After comprehensive product training overseas, you will use your electromechanical expertise to address various challenges, engaging with stakeholders including end users, shipbuilders, contractors, and project teams. Additionally, you will support supply chain development in the US.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Install, survey, repair, service, and train on naval gunnery systems.
- Perform testing for fault diagnosis and prepare detailed reports.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high standards of work and customer service.
- Execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) with customer witnesses.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Support customer assistance platforms.
- Potentially obtain security clearance through the Department of Defense.
Expectations and Travel:
- Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain departments.
- Travel to national and international client sites, possibly outside standard working hours.
- Adhere to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Potential for UK-based training and support visits to US suppliers.
What We’re Looking For:
- Associate's degree in electronics or electro-mechanical disciplines.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong technical communication skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Experience supporting product lifecycle and diagnosing equipment issues.
Desirable Attributes:
- Background in naval gun systems and electro-mechanical devices.
- Knowledge of software coding and management.
- Project management insight.
- Proactive approach to product improvement suggestions.
