Director of Children’s Ministries/Program Director

Directly

Reports to:

Senior Pastor

• Envisions programs needed to meet God’s plan for AUMC and assists in integrating these programs into the life of the church
• Organize and coordinates activities of all children, Nursery – Grade 5

• Assists in the development of programs for AUMC
• Recruits, coordinates and encourages volunteers to minister to children, which includes Sunday School, VBS, and Nursery
• Train teachers for ministry to children
• Attend scheduled meetings (Including evenings as required)
• Reaches out to the community to make them aware of church programs that are available

• Evaluate program effectiveness on an ongoing basis with staff and leadership
• Order all approved program materials requested by staff and volunteers
• Coordinate VBS program
• Write articles for bulletins and newsletters
• Oversee nursery program: recruits and trains attendants, monitors supplies
• Coordinate Children’s Church volunteers, lessons, and supplies
• Create activities/programs that serve children’s needs
• Assist with different fundraisers throughout the year

• Consults with co-workers and other Church committees
• Works collaboratively with a variety of ministry leaders, staff, and congregational volunteers to effectively unite with and evaluate other church ministries

Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications

• Experience in working with children and their families
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to work with others
• Proficient with computer (Microsoft Word, Windows, Social Media, etc.)
