Overview

We are hiring immediately for full time and part time BAKER positions.

Location:

Winthrop University, 701 Oakland Avenue, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Schedule:

Full time and part time; days and hours may vary. Day shifts. More details upon interview. Pay Range: $13.00 to $14.00 per hour.

• Prepares baked goods according to recipes and production specifications.
• Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries as necessary per the provided production and catering sheets; assist in production planning to meet daily requirements.
• Ensure proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes, following prescribed production standards and use of proper equipment.
• Assist with the completion of production records, including waste tracking, used/unused portions and product shortages; inform supervisor when supplies are low.
• Ensure proper presentation, food quality, portion control, and maintenance of proper serving temperatures.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils within the work area.
• Handle food items appropriately and with all safety regulations in mind during preparation and service.
• Clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments. Keep display equipment clean and free of debris.
• Interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly, customer-service oriented manner; relay relevant concerns to supervisors.
• Keep up with peak production and service calmly, accurately and efficiently.
• Check that all food is presented, served, and displayed per standards.
• Follow sanitation and safety principles in handling food and equipment; comply with corporate and OSHA safety standards.
• Complete shift work, as assigned, in a timely and thorough manner according to department standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Because this position requires you to perform services in an educational facility, there may be periods when the Company does not require you to perform work (such as winter and summer breaks when food service needs decline or cease). Any such periods may be unpaid and deemed a temporary layoff. Depending on business needs, you may be required to work year-round, potentially at a different location during break periods.
