Black Hawk College seeks adjunct/part-time instructors for the Adult Education (non-credit) Optional Education (High School Completion) program. Mostly in person instruction at the Adult Learning Center in Rock Island, IL. Applications reviewed immediately.
Responsibilities- Work with Optional Ed Coordinator to develop individualized educational plans for each student based on current transcripts and deliver needed instruction in required subjects.
- Provide necessary instruction and guidance in a range of high school credit courses.
- Prepare and deliver instruction based on textbooks and supporting materials.
- Administer standardized tests to measure progress.
- Use the provided curriculum to encourage learning by preparing appropriate lessons and/or activities, evaluate student performance, and maintain classroom records, equipment, and instructional materials.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Previous teaching experience or experience with high school learners preferred.
Pay is commensurate with education and experience.
- Minimum starting pay for Adult Education Adjunct Faculty (Fall 2024):
Bachelor's Degree – $25.97 per contact hour
Bachelor's +15 Degree – $28.14 per contact hour
Master’s – $30.30 per contact hour
