American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med Surg/Telemetry position requiring active IL and IA RN licensure and at least one year of Med Surg, Post Op, or Stepdown experience.

• Surgical/Ortho Med Surg unit within a Level 1 trauma hospital setting
• Caseload typically includes 5-7 patients per nurse
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• May float within the same discipline across local campuses
• EMR system used is Epic

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
• IA RN license also required, or proof of application for IA single-state or compact license
• Compact RN license accepted
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg, Post Op, or Stepdown experience required
• Surgical or post-op surgical experience required
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• At least one completed travel contract preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Current resume/work history required
• Skills checklist completed within the past year required
• One supervisory reference from within the past 2 years required at time of consideration

• Function as part of an interdisciplinary care team providing professional nursing care and clinical management to Med Surg and Surgical/Ortho patients
• Located in a Level 1 trauma center
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility for travel rate eligibility
• Candidates employed by the facility within the past 12 months will not be considered
• Required to work 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving)
• Limited to 1 day off request during the Thanksgiving and winter holiday blackout periods
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
