Position: Full‑Time Class A Driver – Rock Island, IL Terminal
Hours: Monday – Friday, Day shift
Pay: $30.93 per hour to start, $32.17 per hour after the first year

Position SummaryDrive a tractor‑trailer between customer locations to deliver and pickup freight.
Essential Functions- Drive a commercial vehicle safely while picking up and delivering general freight.
- Transport freight between terminals.
- Load and unload trailer, alone or with dockworker assistance; use mechanized freight‑handling equipment where available.
- Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of freight.
- Secure freight through strapping or other methods as required.
- Inspect the vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions as required by law and company policy.
- Comply with all federal requirements regarding hazardous‑materials transportation.
- Drive in all conditions in accordance with federal regulations, respecting hours‑of‑service limitations.
- Maintain compliance records, including driver logs and other required documents.
- Follow company policies and procedures and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
- Minimum age of 23.
- At least 1 year of verifiable tractor‑trailer experience.
- Pass a road test administered by a Dohrn Transfer Driver Trainer.
- Possess or obtain Hazardous‑Material and Tanker endorsements on a current valid CDL issued by the resident state.
- Possess only one valid CDL issued by the resident state; recent out‑of‑state transfers must provide verification.
- No DUI, OWI, or reckless‑driving convictions or citations in the past 5 years.
- Maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Pass a DOT physical examination and functional screening.
- Consent to a pre‑employment drug screen; must receive a negative result.
- Submit negative controlled‑substance and alcohol results from prior employers for the past three years.
- Provide a 10‑year work‑history check; disclose gaps of 30 days or more with explanation and documentation as requested.
- Read and write English and perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Understand that employment is at‑will with no contractual guarantees.
Physical Requirements
- Grip items up to 100 pounds.
- Lift up to 100 pounds from ground to 45 inches; lift at waist level or 36 inches.
- Front carry up to 100 pounds for 250 feet.
- Push/pull up to 60 pounds of horizontal force.
- Sit up to 10 hours per day.
- Stand and walk frequently.
- Climb, squat, crouch, balance or kneel occasionally; crawl rarely.
- Reach frequently while operating the vehicle and handling freight.
- Grasp and handle freight while loading, unloading, and operating the trailer.
- Communicate with coworkers and customers to safely perform job functions.
- Use vision constantly for driving, mapping, and vehicle inspection.
- Use smell occasionally to detect leaks.
- Use hearing frequently to detect vehicle sounds.
- Possible exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, wetness, dust, gas, fumes, or chemicals.
