Part-time Delivery Driver – Nourish Food Program
Overview: Ever dreamed of having a mobile office? If you do, we have a job for you. Get paid to drive around town in your own vehicle, on a flexible schedule, while delivering nutritious meals and snacks to children in need.
Location: Rock Island YMCA, 2715 30th Street, Rock Island, IL 61201
Weekly
Hours:
Up to 30 per week.
Hours: Monday – Friday 10 am – 4 pm;
Summer hours 8 am – 2 pm
Pay: $15 per hour + mileage
QualificationsApplicants must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for each shift. A clean driving record and consent to provide a motor vehicle report are required. Drivers will be paid mileage in addition to regular wages.
Education: High school diploma preferred.
Certifications: CPR/AED/First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Child Abuse Prevention, Food Sanitation Certification (must be obtained within 90 days).
Languages: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematics: Ability to perform basic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Responsibilities- Deliver food to various locations and follow designated routes.
- Assist in the prep and packing of meals.
- Adhere to routes and schedule.
- Load and unload personal vehicle for deliveries.
- Collect necessary paperwork and signatures from food sites.
- Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and program staff.
- Keep all program areas safe and clean.
- Arrive on time with name tag, proper attire, Y staff shirt, and positive attitude.
- Maintain a professional image of the Y in the facility and community.
- Use the time‐clock system to log hours and notify supervisor promptly of errors or missed punches.
- Work as a team with other Y staff members.
- May be required to change routes or travel between sites on occasion.
- Track mileage and submit reports in a timely manner.
- Children in the Illinois Quad Cities will have access to nutritious meals.
- Staff, members, participants, and the community will be aware of the Y’s nutritional programs.
- All nutritional activities will maintain a high level of quality and professionalism.

Physical DemandsThe role requires frequent talking or hearing, standing, walking, using hands and fingers to handle tools or controls, reaching with hands and arms, occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50–75 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
