Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN to join the ICU team in a rural setting, requiring a WY or compact RN license and critical care experience.

• Work in a rural hospital ICU with 10 beds
• Responsible for bedside care of critically ill patients
• May also be assigned to Med Surg shifts as needed
• Uses Alaris IV pumps, Space Labs cardiac monitoring, Mindray vitals, Nicom, Kangaroo pumps, Zo US defibrillators, and Pyxis systems
• Uses computerized charting and medication systems
• 12-hour night shifts with required weekend coverage
• Possible on-call requirement if census is low
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:2 for critical care, 1:4 for stepdown, and 1:4-5 for Med Surg overflow
• May float to Med Surg, ER, or post-partum units to assist, but not take a full patient load
• Orientation includes HR and education requirements on day one, followed by restraint training on day two
• One shadow shift is provided before independent work is expected
• Any color scrubs are acceptable
• Role requires flexibility to cover both ICU and Med Surg patient care

• Active WY state or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years recent critical care experience required
• Must provide two current references, including one from a supervisor within the last 12 months and one from a peer or supervisor in the specialty from the past 3 years
• Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
