Purpose of the Position

Assist Early Childhood teachers, students, and families in the Early Childhood to Kindergarten transition.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives and parameters found in the Board’s strategic plan.
  • Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
  • Provides academic and social‑emotional support for students pertaining to kindergarten readiness through daily routines.
  • Serves as liaison to communicate and coordinate with kindergarten instructional leaders regarding transitional plans for identified students who may need additional support transitioning to kindergarten.
  • Attends problem‑solving team meetings, upon request, for children who may need additional support transitioning to kindergarten.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in early childhood, social work, psychology, family services or related field preferred.

Working Conditions

This position requires moderate in‑district travel. Mileage is reimbursed at the existing per mile rate for authorized travel. Intermittent, prolonged and irregular hours of work.
