Mechanical Power Conversion (MPC) is growing due to high customer demand and needs a Sustaining Project Engineer. In this position, you will lead cross‑functional teams in engineering, operations, quality, purchasing, etc. to support production programs across a variety of technologies.
What You Will Do- Confidently provide clear, concise communications with customers, peers, and Collins leadership.
- Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts to identify causes and mitigation plans for issues affecting program productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide customer support for Field Failure investigations.
- Pursue cost‑saving opportunities to maximize project profitability.
- Consolidate and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project.
- Liaise between project management and planning, project teams, and production line management as necessary to support plant output.
- Prepare project estimates and project plans.
- Manage project schedule, budgets and status; plan, direct and oversee activities of an Integrated Project Team (IPT).
- Support Quality investigations as necessary when piece‑part issues affect product deliveries.
- Understand and execute test procedures; analyze, interpret, and report test results.
- Verify internal processes are being executed to reduce probability of engineering setbacks.
- Assess customer issues and develop resolutions that meet Collins and customer objectives.
- Read and interpret drawings; provide mark‑ups and coordinate drawing releases.
- Document best practices into engineering standard work.
- Typically requires a STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience or a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Aerospace industry experience.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical hardware.
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams across departments and business units.
- Experience and/or understanding of the engineering change process.

Salary Range: $82,000 – $164,000 USD.
