Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer will take full ownership of the lifecycle of critical mechanical equipment used in gas-processing operations. This includes design, specification, procurement, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing support across multiple production facilities. The role supports multidisciplinary project teams and is ideal for a technically skilled engineer who enjoys a combination of hands‑on mechanical work and project execution. The engineer will manage several small capital projects simultaneously and ensure all equipment meets industry standards, including ASME Section VIII, Div.

1 and ASME B31.3.

Project Overview
  • Manage rotating equipment such as compressors, blowers, and pumps
  • Support multiple small capital projects valued up to $1M
  • Work with pressure vessels and gas‑processing equipment
  • Collaborate with project engineering, maintenance, controls, electrical, and process teams
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of mechanical equipment—specification, selection, procurement, commissioning, and maintenance.
  • Ensure all pressure vessel and piping designs comply with ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 and ASME B31.3.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to safely design and commission new equipment and systems.
  • Provide technical support for rotating equipment, including troubleshooting, reliability improvements, and maintenance strategies.
  • Assist in project engineering activities, including scope definition, schedule coordination, budgeting, and progress reporting.
  • Support continuous improvement and ensure systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
  • Travel up to 50% to support project needs across regional facilities.
  • Work effectively in fast‑paced industrial environments with shifting priorities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 4–8 years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, gas processing, or chemical environments.
  • Working knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (Sec VIII, Div
    1) and ASME B31.3.
  • Experience with industrial rotating equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to motivate cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Hands‑on mechanical and troubleshooting ability.
  • Experience in biogas, renewable energy, or waste treatment preferred.
  • Understanding of commercial agreements and customer relations (preferred).
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, work in industrial environments, and adapt to fast‑paced project needs.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct design or operational experience with centrifugal blowers, oil‑flooded screw compressors, or industrial mixers.
  • Experience managing small capital projects, including cost and schedule management.
  • Experience in gas processing, oil & gas, or chemical industries.
  • Military technical training.
  • Knowledge of industrial gases and pipeline safety.
