Job Overview:
The Operations team is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to take ownership of the full lifecycle of critical mechanical equipment used in gas processing and industrial operations. This role combines hands-on engineering, design oversight, and project execution within process facilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems are designed, installed, and operated safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities
  • Own equipment lifecycle management, including specification, selection, procurement, commissioning, maintenance, and ongoing technical support
  • Ensure compliance with ASME Section VIII (Div.
    1) and ASME B31.3 for pressure vessels and process piping
  • Collaborate with Process, Electrical, and Controls Engineering teams to design and commission new systems
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for rotating equipment, supporting troubleshooting, reliability, and maintenance strategies
  • Support capital improvement projects, assisting with scope definition, schedules, and budget management
  • Provide engineering leadership for equipment installation, modification, and maintenance activities
  • Work safely in industrial environments and comply with OSHA and site safety requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, chemical processing, or gas processing environments
  • Strong experience with rotating equipment (compressors, blowers, mixers)
  • Working knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (Section VIII, Div.
    1) and Process Piping Code (B31.3)
  • Proven leadership experience on small-to-mid-size capital projects (approximately $500K budgets)
  • Hands-on mechanical troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to manage contractors for equipment installation, maintenance, and modifications
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience with centrifugal blowers, oil-flooded screw compressors, and/or industrial mixers
  • Project engineering or project management experience (cost and schedule control)
  • Experience in gas processing, oil & gas, chemical, or environmental sustainability industries (biogas, renewable energy, waste treatment)
  • Familiarity with industrial gases and pipeline safety
  • Military technical training
