We are seeking a Principal Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC/EMI) Engineer who is ready to take on challenging technical problems and make a real impact. We are seeking someone who will lead EMC/EMI strategy for advanced products, collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve EMI challenges early, and contribute to design decisions that shape the next generation of aerospace systems.
The ideal candidate has hands‑on expertise in EMC/EMI standards, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to communicate technical solutions clearly across teams. At Collins Aerospace, your work matters, you’ll help build safer, more efficient, and sustainable flight systems while growing your skills and influence in a collaborative, innovative environment. If you are passionate about EMC/EMI and ready to make an impact, we are seeking you to join our team.
What You Will Do- Drive development and qualification activities for assigned programs and projects, ensuring EMC compliance while meeting technical, cost, and schedule objectives.
- Review and translate high-level EMI/EMC requirements to system and circuit-level specifications.
- Support hardware and system design efforts, including design reviews, to meet product performance requirements for EMI/EMC/Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) compliance per DO-160, MIL-STD-461, and other relevant standards.
- Create EMC control plans, guidelines, test procedures, and detailed test/similarity/analysis reports.
- Collaborate with senior EMI/EMC engineers to develop expertise in advanced EMC topics and expand technical knowledge.
- Utilize modeling/simulation tools and software in support of EMC design.
- Contribute to EMC Standard Work, identify and implement best practices, and share lessons learned with the team.
- Develop EMI/EMC test methodologies and test setups and supervise EMC setup construction and system integration.
- Conduct EMC assessments for design changes, including product development updates and obsolescence evaluations for component replacements.
- Support and coordinate EMI/EMC development, qualification, and certification testing, facilitating effective communication across cross-functional teams and suppliers.
