Position Purpose

Participate as a team member in the delivery of substance‑use disorder services to adult clients and their families. Facilitate issues of recovery within clients’ daily living situations. Provide program services in an ethical, legal, and moral manner within a safe and therapeutic environment, consistent with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards. This Addiction Counselor position will run a morning Intensive Outpatient Group for adult clients with a primary substance use disorder.

Job Requirements
  • Masters degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Addiction Studies, or related field (preferred)
  • Bachelors in related degree or equivalent experience and training (required)
  • Illinois Certified Addiction Counselor (CADC) or licensed in Illinois as a LSW or LPC; CADC supersedes other licenses within 2 years of employment in substance‑use disorder services
Qualifications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Ability to navigate and complete documentation in the electronic healthcare record
  • Ability to accurately complete required documentation within prescribed time frames
  • Skilled in conducting individual, family, and group counseling
  • Ability to present and coordinate lectures for clients, parents, staff, or community resources
  • Self‑starter capable of working independently
  • Team player
  • Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance
Essential Responsibilities
  • Work hours prescribed by leadership and any additional hours deemed necessary for assigned responsibilities
  • Conduct individual, group, and family counseling and educational sessions for clients and/or family members
  • Complete client psychosocial and individual treatment plans within required time frame
  • Identify client clinical and case‑management needs and work to address them
  • Educate clients and their support members regarding all aspects of treatment, associated health issues, and steps to recovery
  • Undertake primary case‑management responsibilities for designated clients
  • Maintain documentation in client service record consistent with expectations defined by SUPR, TJC, and Medicaid regulations
  • Maintain communications with all staff (e.g., admissions, case management, discharge plans)
  • Assume on‑call responsibilities per schedule or when designated
  • Present workshops, lectures, and training to clients, families, staff, and community groups
  • Be available for court appearances on behalf of Rosecrance clients
  • Participate in all team meetings and activities
  • Exercise confidentiality per the Code of Conduct and legal framework
  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every client
Schedule

Sunday–Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. with a late‑night shift.

Job Type

Full‑time

Compensation & Rewards

Based on education, experience, and credentials.

  • Starting rate for Bachelors: $24.44 per hour
  • Starting rate for Masters: $27.77 per hour
  • Residential differential: $1.50 per hour
  • Professional certification (e.g., CADC, CRSS, or CPS): +$0.72 per hour (≈$1,500 annualized)
