Mens Live Recovery Coordinator Weekend Night (PT) – Rockford Rescue Mission
Pay RangeThe base pay is $21.00/hr – $21.00/hr.
Working ConditionsExtended shift with accommodation for rest time. Constant supervision and interaction with residents.
Transporting residents to church, activities, shopping, etc.
Occasional off‑site retreats and events.
Responsibilities- Assist in the holistic growth and development of the clients.
- Communicate with the House Supervisor regarding clients and their attitudes, service assignments and responsibilities.
- Help clients to achieve a child of God identity and uphold a Christlike standard of behavior by assessing the individual’s needs and referring to the appropriate staff for follow‑up.
- Track client movement in and out of the RRMM facility and monitoring visitations.
- Oversee client activities (Client Council Meetings, processing and House Groups, Service Assignments/projects, Church outreaches).
- Intervene with the spiritual, emotional, social, and physical needs of clients.
- Monitor the delivery of services to clients.
- Help monitor the delivery, service, and cleanup of meals to the RP clients.
- Assess the emotional and spiritual needs of clients, intervening when possible and referring to Chaplain/Case Managers and volunteer help when indicated.
- Do random drug and alcohol testing as needed, record results and notify appropriate Chaplain/Case Manager.
- Transport Phase I residents to assigned church each Sunday morning.
- Uphold a standard with all clients, visitors, volunteers and coworkers that aligns with program expectations and Christlikeness.
- Intervene with individuals that fall short of meeting the program and spiritual expectations.
- Function in a role of crisis interventionist, providing brief counseling as needed.
- Find opportunities to refer clients to Chaplain/Case Managers for counseling/case management follow‑up.
- Stay vigilant for any inappropriate behaviors such as smoking, drugs and/or alcohol possession or use, threats or physical violence, thievery, and/or weapons.
- Exhibit non‑threatening conflict resolution during guest, candidate, or client disputes.
- Enforce program principles and procedures with compassion and respect.
- Document corrective actions, file where designated and route copies to staff when appropriate.
- Maintain a safe and secure physical environment.
- Prevent accidents, acts of violence and/or crisis situations; note hazards and refer to Recovery Services Supervisor.
- Call appropriate local emergency personnel when needed; follow call procedure.
- Defuse and/or refer all incoming crisis telephone calls; document for follow‑up.
- Attend internal/external trainings, staff meetings, seminars as directed by the Recovery Services Supervisor.
- Attend weekly supervisory meetings with the Recovery Services Supervisor.
- Attend required first aid, CPR, and/or fire safety trainings as scheduled.
- Document all Recovery Program activities and file appropriately.
- Perform related work and other duties as required and assigned.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; frequent standing, moving, walking, bending, and twisting; occasional sitting.
Spiritual Responsibilities- Share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others.
- Provide spiritual encouragement to staff, volunteers, guests, and residents.
- Invest in the spiritual development of staff, guests, residents, and donors.
- Pray for and with staff, volunteers, guests, residents, and donors.
- Ensure actions and policies reflect Christian values and the Mission’s purpose.
- Handle relational conflicts per Romans 12:18 and Matthew 18:15‑19.
- Memorize monthly Scripture, Mission Statement, and Mission Core Values.
- Participate in corporate prayer, Scripture reading, chapel services and all spiritual gatherings.
- Attend mandatory Evangelism In Service training and annual spiritual growth training.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Compassion towards the poor, needy, and homeless.
- Christian character traits of integrity, trustworthiness, responsibility, etc.
- Respect, gentleness, and accountability when interacting with crisis guests and recovery program clients.
- Team‑player attitude and willingness to resolve conflicts with staff, volunteers, clients, candidates, and guests.
- Safe and healthy work practices on premises and off‑site facilities.
- J03 license required within 90 days of hire.
