Pharmacist Hospital - 7 on and 7 off

Performs all functions of pharmaceutical care including medication and IV orders. Evaluates for appropriate drug, dose, allergies, interactions, and incompatibilities. Monitors levels of therapeutic drugs. Performs and supervises computer data entry related to patient profile. Monitors all medication dispensing for accuracy. Supervises filling of all prescriptions and provides appropriate patient counseling. Collects and analyzes data for process improvement projects. Performs in‑service to community and support groups.
Performs other duties as assigned. May be required to work alternate shifts.
- Maintains professionalism and conducts self as a role model, serving as a resource for all health system partners.
- Is an expert staff pharmacist who relies on skills of comprehensive knowledge and experience.
- Maintains practice by ongoing professional literature review, continuing education, and self‑evaluation.
Graduate of an accredited pharmacy program.
Hospital pharmacy experience or residency preferred.
Certification and LicensureWisconsin/Illinois registered pharmacist license or eligible.
Skills and Abilities- Excellent interpretive / analytical skills for pharmaceutical applications.
- Strong accuracy skills.
- Computer experience.
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, balance, talk, and hear. Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force. Specific vision abilities include frequent ability to adjust focus and occasionally distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Level of SupervisionWork requires a moderate level of independent judgment along with good interpretative and interpersonal skills with justification and accountability to Supervisor, Manager, and Director.
SupervisesThis position supervises technicians. It is involved in the recruitment and orientation process and provides performance feedback and input for performance evaluation purposes. May implement coaching, counseling, and corrective action when needed.
